Doubt Not! – Dr. India White
Many times we want to believe in something incredible, whether a dream, a promise from God and more. However, we tend to have a small thought in our minds that will say, “Eh, I doubt it.”
Doubt is defined as, “a feeling of uncertainty or a lack of conviction.” When we doubt, we are announcing to the world that we feel uncertain and uncomfortable with what we are trying to believe in. Doubt occurs whenever we are dealing with someone that is not credible. Someone who is a known liar, has little to no power or authority. Doubt is justified, because the person that claimed to fulfill something for us has lacked the worth of having trust. When we choose to doubt, we are saying that there is absolutely 100% no way that the person can achieve what they said
they would. We have gathered our conclusion through their previous works listed on their resume, or in what others have told us about them.
Hence, when we choose to doubt, we are making a new decree that what we are believing for just won’t happen. Sometimes this decree is declared because of previous disappointments. However, I want to take time and remind you about God, and how God is more than able to fulfill his word for your life.
When you trust in the word of God, and what he has spoken for your life, you will be consumed in hoping, watching for his word to come to pass.
There are several scriptures that can encourage you as you stand on the word of God.
1. Jeremiah 32:37- Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?
2. Luke 1: 45- And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
3. Hebrews 11:6
- But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
I can also reference several stories in the scripture in which God fulfilled his word, no matter the status of the person believing or the situation taking place.
For example, the Shunamite woman (2nd Kings 4: 8-37) was without God. The prophet of God revealed the word of the Lord. She even told him, “don’t lie to me Lord”, yet God still brought the word to pass
and she was with child. The child even died, and was resurrected, and she walked away with her blessing. In spite of her unbelief and doubt, she still tasted of the promise. Doubt not; choose to believe.
Naman the leper in 2nd Kings 5 was not worthy
to be cleansed. According to the law, lepers were to remain separated, never redeemed in society. Naman could have accepted his fate, however, his servant gave him a spark of hope, telling him about how God Almighty was more than able
to heal and to make whole. As a result, he visited the prophet Elisha and followed instructions. Even though he was reluctant to obey, he was obedient and his skin was make whole. God can do anything, even if people deem you as unfit or unworthy to taste of a promise or a miracle.
The Syrophoenician woman spoke to the Lord about her requests. Even Jesus told her that she was not fit to partake of the meat of the children of God. She answered back in Matthew 15:27 in saying, “And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs
eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.” Her faith gave her a blessing that she was unfit for. She believed in miracles when she was not chosen to receive one.
The Lord Jesus even promised to fill the disciples and the 120 believers with his spirit as they tarried in Jerusalem. As a result, they were filled with his spirit
(Acts 2:1-4; Acts 2:38). Matter of fact, he is still fulfilling that same promise even today! (Acts 2:39)
If God is truly no respecter of persons
(Romans 2:11), then surely he can surpass all rules and regulations, and give you a promise and a miracle that should not go to you. Never hang your head in unbelief; choose to walk in faith and try God.
His word says, “Prove me now…(Malachi 3:10)” So, put down doubt, and give God a try. You’ll be so glad that you did.
I’m grateful that God is not a man that he should lie and that his word is binding. Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that “He is more than able to do exceedingly abundantly above all you can ask or think”, so give him a shot.
Let’s continue to move forward in hope and expectancy in this season as we believe God and obtain every promise in Jesus name!
Make a commitment today; Have no doubt.
