Clear the Clutter in YOUR Closet!
Dr. India White
Have you ever walked in your closet and noticed that a shoe or shirt was misplaced? Did you get that urge to handle that matter IMMEDIATELY so you can calm the OCD within?
Yes, I’ve been there too lol! Sometimes, we put up with the little things for so long that we reach a place of complacency until we’ve had enough.
It’s time for you to gain control and say, “Enough is enough!”
I’m not talking about clutter in your physical closet; I mean the clutter in your Spiritual
closet.
Remember when you used to pray at least 30 minutes to an hour a day, and now you barely utter five words to God? Why is that? Well, over time, the clutter of this world, distractions, hurts, bitterness, and business has flooded your soul. So, does that make you a bad person? Of course not! However, for you to continue flowing like you used to, you’ve gotta visit those pockets of clutter, and secret places in your heart.
Stop carrying the weight of sin and unforgiveness. Allow God to flow through your spirit as you meditate on Him. You are still here so he is Here for you and is more than able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
Here are some ways you can be effective at removing the clutter:
1. Begin a Routine Again!
a. When was the last time you actual flowed in a morning routine, i.e. pray for 5 minutes, read a psalm; read a proverb; worship intentionally and meditate for 10 minutes….If you have slipped away from a routine in which you know you were successful, it’s time to establish it again or enhance it to adjust to your schedule.
2. Be Intentional About Clearing your Heart!
a. Find time alone to meditate and get REAL with God. Tell him how you really feel about that person that hurt you, about that temptation and about your personal struggles. Give him ALL of it! Show him how much you really need him. Stop trying to hold on to all of it, and clear your heart.
3. OBEY; Choose Christ!
a. God will begin to direct you through his still small voice, your personal leader, and more. Obey and get in alignment with direction that you know is kingdom minded and intentional towards restoring you.
4. Continue to REMOVE the clutter!
a. Once you have figured out what held you back, make some fresh commitments to never allow yourself to get in that predicament again. Clear the clutter and begin to strengthen your gifts, your love towards the Lord and your love towards others. Contribute to the kingdom using the gifts and talents God gave you.
In conclusion, you weren’t made to be a spiritual trash can; you were made to flow like the wind in the Lord. Remove the clutter, and answer your call to serve your God today.
